Sad news, the loss of Carl Pratt

We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, Carl Pratt.   Our sincerest condolences go out to Marie and their family.  

Carl was a longtime member and had competitively raced MC Scows for decades.  He loved the sport of sailing and spent many days and evenings at Cowan Lake.   

This obituary appeared in the Dayton news today.  

 

John C. Pratt III, "Carl", age 77 of Miami Township, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 13, 1939 in Lowell, Massachusetts, the son of the late John Pratt II and Virginia Dion.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Jordan; and grandson, Christian Hain.

Carl is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie; son, David (Sherry) Pratt; grandsons, Sterling (Danielle) Hain, Taylor (Jamie) Hain, Derek Pratt; 5 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters. 

Carl retired from NCR after 37 years of employment. He was an avid sailor at Cowan Lake Sailing Association and loved to build model airplanes.
