Good Evening everybody

The Prize distribution at the Govt school went off very well. Thanks to all volunteers who were present at the school , without whom, it would not have been possible to organize the event .
It was really nice to see the little ones sitting with their hands folded waiting for the event to begin. The children enjoyed singing songs before the function. Both guests were extremely happy at the initiative and hoped that we would continue with our efforts.

We can make a difference at the school only with continued presence and more structured approach. I know that Community service needs a lot of dedication and commitment and I wish we could contribute to society in the smallest way possible.
Requesting all student volunteers to  induct more from ECE or across departments to keep it going.
Contribution of Pradeep of IBM towards the school is indeed very motivating. Most of us feel that we do not have enough time to take up Community service, but talking to him, made me feel that we are hardly spending time compared to his initiatve to give sight through one of the eye care units to one of the students. And this initiative  is across different schools. Our initiative is towards only one school and we are unable to manage it. Seems a real pity that we have all the resources -knowledge , education, money but not much time .

Can we make our program more structured and focussed ? To do that we need more volunteers. We need to teach
1. Science and Mathematics
2. Spoken English
3. Computers
4. Cultural /extra curricular activities  like music, painting, dance etc
As discussed in the meeting, can we have students taking ownership of these activities which would make it more meaningful to move forward.

Science lab continues to be a big question mark. They have a lot of lab equipments unused due to lack of support. Can we do something about it.
Post your feedback. Put your thoughts into this and let us meet in College after your first test.

Thanks again
Regards

Yes, ma'am we all enjoyed the event! And I agree with all the
viewpoints put forward.
Talking about the lab, we can set it up during the holidays as
planned, the teachers too said they'll be available. Either that, or
we can set it up this sem as we wont be teaching there as planned. I
am assuming there is an unused room in the school. Is there?
I think we can talk of more volunteers only after the poster has been
put up, we can look at the response then and decide. That would be
appropriate I guess.

Good Morning

Poster design by Suraj was good. Some small modifications have to be incorporated. Ashwin Kumble, alumnus 2009 batch is very good with posters. In fact he has offered to teach poster design to the juniors. If we have volunteers who are interested, I will talk to Ashwin and see how we can go about it. Or if Surakshith can take it up,that is also fine. The banner looked very elegant. Thanks, Surakshith for the timely help.
We have to put up the posters and have more volunteers before we close this semester . Poster by April 10th and a follow up after that (before second test or just after the second test )depending on our schedule would be appropriate.
