Hi

I am trying to get my CourseBuilder course online.  My deployment was successful (that is the message I get), however if I navigate to the appspot.com page for my course, then the page is completely empty intro2pde.appspot.com I am wondering if I have done something wrong. I have ben careful to see that AppEngine and CourseBuilder versions match.

I hope someone can advise and I apologize if this question has already been posted.

Best wishes

Chris

Chris,
Did you make any changes to lesson.csv? Can you list the files you edited?

HI Jeanne

I didn't make any changes to lesson.csv. Should I have?

I will make a list of edited files.

Thanks for the reply.

HI Jeannie

here are a list of flies that I edited

course.yaml

Sometimes edits to lessons causes that behavior, but that's been ruled out. Can you email me those two files and I'll try to replicate on a sandbox? Have a few theories to test.

Got it!

In your course.yaml your blurb looked like this:

blurb: |
This course in an introduction to partial differential equations and their solution
methods.

It's really sensitive to spacing and the lines have to line up, so it should like this:

blurb: |
This course in an introduction to partial differential equations and their solution
    methods.

Once I fixed that, everything displayed. The exact spacing issue is not so obvious in the source files, but that spacing will create an error if you try to do it in the browser-based editor.

Best,

Jeannie

Thanks, Jeannie!  I got my page deployed, but I cannot work out what I am doing wrong with the code for the URL of the video in the course.yaml file

# You can choose whether you want a video or an image on the main page.
  # If you specify both a video and an image link, then the video will take
  # priority. The image alt text allows the image to be understood by text-only
  # screen readers.
  main_video:
    url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbRTijWZox8
  main_image:
   url: /assets/img/banner1.png
   alt_text: Photo of Chris Tisdell

Any ideas?

Chris,
I'm posting the text from our email exchange in case others need the info:

I found the YT video works if you use the embed URL instead of the regular url. You can get the embed URL from within the share/embed option on the video.

Not this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbRTijWZox8

This: www.youtube.com/embed/hbRTijWZox8?rel=0
