Just in case the search sends somebody here, I would avoid setNumDecimalPlacesToDisplay() if you are connecting to a AudioParameterFloat, since you want the display consistent in host views and your sliders textbox. The configuration how to normalise and display is propagated from the parameter to the slider via the SliderAttachment.

Oh, I'm very sorry. My issue with the program is in the textbox, I am very new to this app inventor and I'm trying to learn much more. The problem with the textbox is that It seems like that I can't add an error feature where it activates if you do not fill in the textbox with a text. There seem to be no blocks like this on the textbox...

Hello, my name is Mike Chan and still newbie to MIT App Inventor.
I have been looking for clues and guides and finally came to here.
The blocks below are from my MIT editor screen. For the reply from @Anke, how I can make sure all textboxes, datepicker, timepicker and listpicker have values before user can press Submit to send the data to Google Sheet ya?
thank you very much!

Allow the rectangle textbox to grow or shrink based on the text within the box. When creating data driven pages, I sometimes add long text to describe the data in the map. If I size the textbox for the longest text and the text shrinks for one of the maps, I'm left with a large blank space between the bottom of the text and the bottom border of the box.

Also, within a rectangle textbox, allow me to control the vertical justification of the text. Currently, it's only top justified. I'd like the ability to make it center or bottom justifiy.

Thank you.

I was recently creating a layout involving many different elements. Adobe InDesign narrowly won over Pro because I was able to automatically adjust the text box size to fit the text I had just made, then distribute my elements vertically on the page. This did not seem easily possible in ArcGIS Pro 2.4.1. Yet, I see in the legend controls, a Fitting Strategy: Adjust Frame option:

Here's a graphic of the same issue today at 2.5.1, I find it hard to align text elements neatly within a layout when the bounding box is not able to be snapped to the size the text and background turned out.

For example, if I have a text box with 10pt font and I change it to 20pt font, I have to resize the box in order to see the full text. Currently if you increase the font size, the text box stays the same and you see a 3 red dots ... indicating that there is text that's not visible.

I am having the opposite problem now. I have a text box that keeps making the font size increase if I change the shape of the text box. I can't find a setting to make it so that it word wraps properly or let me pick specific xy dimensions. Currently the dimensions aspect ratio appears to be locked, so it just changes the font size instead of letting me adjust the box size.

Hi there
I used to use the textbox feature continuously when I was using Kami
However, today it suddenly comes out that whenever I finished inputting a text box and wanted to create another, it jumped to the selection feature so I have to reselect the textbox feature again.
I am wondering like how to stick to the text box feature consistently

The flow I have screenshots of flow and error below, run perfectly when ran manually or in attended mode, just not unattended. I already have modified the display settings in the .xml.config file, which helped me for my other three unattended flows. I have tried the suggestions of this post

That didn't help me, and before reading that post I tried a few other things like focus UI window, send click but none of those have worked either. When I had the "focus window" step, the flow would fail saying "cannot focus: can't find window" so I took that out, and now the action where it fails is continuously step 38 in the screenshot below which i receive the following error in the run history (see below), and not sure why this is happening if I can run the flow manually with every modification i make, successfully, but not in unattended. I will tell you that it does take some time to populate the text in the text box, as well as click on the "open" button, even before I added waits to the flow, which i don't know why that is, not a big deal, but if anyone could possibly explain that to me I'd appreciate it as well.

Problem while executing action 'PopulateTextField'. Failed to write in textbox (textbox wasn't found)

Microsoft.Flow.RPA.Desktop.Modules.SDK.ActionException: Failed to write in textbox (textbox wasn't found) ---> Microsoft.Flow.RPA.Desktop.Modules.UIAutomation.Common.Exceptions.ElementNotFoundException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.Flow.RPA.Desktop.Modules.UIAutomation.Common.Exceptions.ElementNotFoundException' was thrown.

But, if you say it works in attended, then perhaps it is screen resolution issue and the the element does not appear on the screen hence cannot be used (it's different with web elements, you can click or populate them even if they are not displayed directly).

You can try to put some activities before 38 to make sure the loading process is not getting in the way, Like wait 15 seconds or wait until ui element is in window. If that is the case, then keep these activities in your flow.

Thank you for responding. I was able to make some changes and instead of populating text in a UI field, I tried using the send keys action, and tried running it in unattended mode and ran successful, so i dont want to jinx it since its working fine now.

But the reason for the mixture of web elements and UI elements is because part of the process the flow does is open the file save as window, so that's why i was using a UI element as well, since that window is not a web element, but a UI one. Unless you know of a cleaner or better way to do that, I am up for suggestions, since I'm still improving my skills using PAD.

Hi, how to avoid textbox being considered as login field ?
image1167706 29.8 KB
I guess it is due to a bad implementation on this cocolis website, but how can I avoid the consequence on my side ? Regards

When I use where under the settings it generates a text box above the plot that matches the entire string within where (and repeats for each chart that is made). Is there any way to suppress this? It is causing display problems when the condition is lengthy and multiple plots are appended.

I suspect there may be a way to reference it from the report output of the variability platform, but since it actually is displayed before the platforms output, I have been successful in wrapping a New Window around the output, with an imbedded "Empty" outline box, and then referencing it from there.

Just want to say that I too find myself stripping off this Where textbox often - for both the reason you show and that I think this small print clause isn't that great as a label, it can easily get lost visually..

Agree with Ian that info can be useful or even essential but when I'm constructing a custom report using JSL anyway I will normally talk to the redundant outline box headings and modify them to supply this info much more prominently and without the annoying layout issues of the textboxes. So where you have those big bold labels saying "Variability Gauge" and "Variability Chart for weight" I would modify those to add SEX=M or whatever there where it's more visible.

JMP has xpath capabilities, which is also not well documented. I suppose that this is because xpath is a standard syntax that JMP doesn't have ownership of, and so they do not feel the need to provide any documentation to users who may be unfamiliar.
