Dear Zdenek!
To elaborate a little bit about becoming a facilitator of Council:
The ECN has so far been following the structure given to us by the elders from Ojai and the Center of Council Training. You can read more about that on the respective websites etc. For people to call themselves Facilitators of Council in the tradition of Ojai there is a suggested path.
Now the ECN is developing a slightly altered path for Europe, to support our work here.
The European Council trainers met last week in Innsbruck and worked intensively on this path. We will share all we suggest at the ECN meeting in Greece and online via all channels, as soon as we can.
A short abstract is (my version):
to be a full Council facilitator for groups we suggest you do minimum an Intro Training, 2 Deepening Trainings (min. 8 days of full Council training) and have at least 1 year of regular Council practice.
You should be supported by a circle and a Council trainer on your path. You connect to your local communities, build your understanding of being a Carrier of Council, etc.
On this path, of course you facilitate Councils with co-leaders, learn, make mistakes, ... like all of you are doing. Ideally some times you will be supported with feedback, guidance by a more experienced Council person (for example in a kind of mentoring day around the trainings we are planning in winter and spring).
When you feel ready to hold Councils in other settings than in your close and known circles and have met the required training etc. we suggest a small ceremony in your local / regional Council circle.
As with all ceremony, the path can have many different ways, but it seems that the above is a good description of a minimum. And: We always need to listen what serves ourselves, the circle and the higher good.
We plan to have the possibility to map all Council facilitators on an ECN map including their contacts, to give access to extra material via the ning site, etc.
Hoping this helps clarity. And as I said, there will be a document out in November.
I know you will communicate in CZ to see what is right and needed in your circle and country, and I hope you will communicate with us to get the support you need.

I understood we are already council fascilitators? If not please make it very clear what else one hes to absolvate to become full facilitator for another training. We took basic skills from two weekends and we feel and listen spirit of council integarate council skills and spirit into activites we do. Of course there is always open door for development in any metod.I have no free time to go to greece, actualy i will spent 12 days with holger in fidhorn and organize for holger same another activity in europe east during summer and next years.
I feel we have to meet as smal circle of council czech people and talk how things will be in future.

I am so happy many of you have actively embraced Council, some of you already have clearly light the torch of the Council Carrier. I hope this means some of you will be coming to Greece for the ECN meeting! Your next step is to deepen your experience, do more traning for your path towards becoming facilitators of Council. I would love to support that, and maybe we should think about what you need additinally to the trainings we have already scheduled, eg. a Council practice day in fall (for those who did the Intro and Deepening), then come again to the next deepening in spring.
As for the Intro and Deepening, we have already agreed upon:
Holger wants to come to Czechia again. He is trying to fit the Deepening in spring into his calendar. And with his family, his seminar center and all his engagements he cannot come for both trainings.
Clemens is not available at any other date than the one we originally planned 21.-24.11. (which is now no good for you because Lorien is not free). I need an experienced Council partner at my side for the Intro too, that is why I asked Yvan. For you, this is the possibility to see another take on Council. Which I am sure can be supportive and widening.

I am also definetaly sure that we all/I and Vaclav, Jaroslava, Sarka, Filip can do intro weekend together with your leading of course, this will be more economicaly nurishing for you and for our organization as well.

More news: after a meeting of the European Council trainers last week, I am happy to say, that I have asked my Swiss colleague Yvan Rytz to come to Czechia with me for the Intro.
He is an international trainer like me, trained Vision Quest Guide, international traveller, spiritual man, was a member of parliament for the green party in Switzerland and has lived in Findhorn. He is still open for trainings in fall.
So we could do the original date or 28.11.-1.12. und 5.-8.12.
Let me know soon, what you think - I would like to fix the date.

Not so good news. Clemens kept the one weekend free, we have not been able to find another open weekend for both of us before Christmas...
So, it looks like we can let go of Lorien or Clemens.
You will have to decide how important it is for the Czech circle to keep the trainings at Lorien.
If you feel strongly about it, then we will have to look for a male colleague for me.
I can offer 28.11.-1.12. und 5.-8.12. as alternative dates before Christmas.

Hello Katrin, i respekt your new way of conditioning and rools to becoming full council facilitator. It sounds very fundamental but it hes not been said last year, there was clear mesage that to be council facilitator means to participate on both of trainings moduls and practise council by your own. Now its sounds to me not clear if we are council facilitators or not. If not please comunicating this information clearly to czech groupe of council, that they are not council facilitators but just particpants of two moduls on way to become council facilitator.
But understand that i and Vaclav both we comunicated to people council training by way that it means to participate is way to become council facilitator.
For me it is quite pain full and disapointing now to comunicating to our council friends who invetsteting time money energee to become council facilitator that they are not fully facilitators.
For next year is no wory to put new rools but for past it hes to be comunicated senzitively and clearly.

i am involved in some kind of certification process as well in my work and i think it is important to keep the standard high the clear structure and rules are very important.
there may have been some miscommunication between you (katrin) and organizers, or you and the whole group, but i think keeping the standards is more important that dwell on misunderstood fact that was passed on.
i was not part of the 2nd group so it is not much my place to comment, but we are talking about a "paper diploma" or a title thing, it does not mean we can not do councils without it.

Thank you for your emails. You ask your questions for many, I am sure.
One answer is:
Council is a practice. It is a way. It is a ceremony. It is a give-away. We all have to listen with care-filled hearts and minds to how we can serve our people / communities with Council and serve the ceremony of Council. Step up, when needed. Wait, when called for.
Can you do Council? Of course! Please do! As soon as you know Council in your heart I hope you will bring it to your people, life, where ever it is appropriate. There is no copyright on Council. It is one form of a universal practice.
And: Council looks like and is a communication tool to work with groups. But, Council is not another method in your toolbox. Especially because it looks so similar to a normal circle and seems easy to hold, it takes experience and knowledge to know the difference, to be ready to actually hold the dynamics.
For people who want to offer Council in the tradition of Ojai, paid or unpaid, as facilitators of Council, we believe it helps to have a certain amount of experience in this particular practice and in holding groups. That is why we (the ECN trainers with the ECN and the Ojai Elders) suggest a path for Council facilitators. (Again: it will be described for all to read soon and I have sketched the main points this morning.)
I believe and hope doing a Council training is beneficial to any person, no matter what they do with the experience afterwards or if they hold a "paper".
For those, who want to do more with Council than their private practice (and maybe even for them), I would think the requirements are easily met, and also of interest to them. It would mean for any of you who have done the full cycle of training already to do another deepening course (in or outside of CZ) alongside your practice. I would hope, you would like to do that anyways.
