Please give consideration to the annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge request below.
I know PGK Tom Denn has been a part of this effort in the past.
Thank you,

Brothers,

As you prepare to go into your December meetings, it is time to talk up Volunteering for the 16th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Maryland Special Olympics.  The Plunge will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Sandy Point State Park in Anne Arundel County.  This is a day-long event that many Knights across Maryland and their families and friends have been involved with for several years now.  But you do NOT have to have any affiliation with the Knights to participate.

Once again Maryland Special Olympics will need volunteers to assist with directing parking, food and drink distribution, memorabilia sales, arcade game operation, etc.  No one is asking you to jump into the icy Chesapeake Bay.  However, yes, some of the volunteers, especially the ones who volunteer to help with the parking, may get cold.  But it’s for a good cause.  If you are at least 16 years old, can stand being outside in the cold for several hours and can stay on your feet for that amount of time, you are eligible to be a volunteer.  It will cost you nothing to get in, you will get a Parking Pass for an off-site lot from which you will take a shuttle bus to the park, you will witness one of the greatest “party” atmospheres of the year, and lunch will be provided.

As of this writing, the online registration page is not yet available on the SOMD website.  I will provide that link as soon as it is available.  However, in the meantime, I can take names, phone numbers and email addresses.  If you or any of your members, families or friends would like to volunteer for this wonderful event, contact Walt Wankowski at wwa...@comcast.net or 410-866-6546.

Vivat Jesus!
