Hi guys,

some time ago there has been a discussion about this topic.
I wanted to askf or the current state.

Is there any progress/any ideas towards a portable CouchDB installation?
I'd love to be able to install CouchDB by just extracting an archive...

Thanks,

Johannes

Heavily platform dependent, anything in mind?

For Windows the bits are there, I was thinking of doing a
chocolatey/nuget package for the next release.

fyi - there is also "pouch" that Mikeal is working on - designed for
off-line, then sync when online - we downloaded and are really excited
about this but didn't test yet so not sure what stage it's at, maybe if
you are interested, Mikeal can add better info.

Are you referring to PouchDB by Dale Harvey?

What do you mean by “portable”? Cross-platform, or lightweight, or embeddable, or easy-to-install?

If you’re looking at something you can embed in a desktop (or mobile) app, TouchDB* is aimed at that. At the moment it supports Mac OS, iOS and Android, but some months ago I got a GNUstep version working that could be used on other platforms that support GNUstep (like Linux and, apparently, Windows.)
