Hi,

This may be a little off topic, but I'm using acluster of Couchbase Server 2.1 CE together with ElasticSearch (using your transport plugin). ElasticSearch can't transform the results, so I was wondering if there are any options to transform the data that goes into ElasticSearch, using the transport plugin.

I know I can set simple mappings per field, but I'm looking for more control - a javascript transform function would be great.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,
Lasse

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner.

Its certainly possible to offer this feature.  One of our early prototypes was hooked up to lang-javascript plugin to allow for exactly this kind of transformation.

One of the challenges we had was finding the best way to configure this type of index specific setting.  Unlike the elasticsearch rivers, we don't have a JSON document describing the behavior.  And including javascript functions in the main elasticsearch config file is a bit clunky.

I'd encourage you to open an issue for this in the project JIRA (http://www.couchbase.com/issues/browse/CBES).  This will ensure it at least gets discussed next time we talk about features for the next release.

Hi,

I've added the issue in JIRA.

Thanks,
Lasse
