to CouchApp
Hi,

I'm a bit confused by the current state of things, everything seems to
be in beta, be someone's github project, or in the "coming soon"
category.

What is the current, best approach for deploying a CouchApp to Android
AND iOS?
is it:

1. Mobile SyncPoint: Download latest versions of Mobile SyncPoint from
here http://www.couchbase.com/wiki/display/couchbase/Mobile+Syncpoint
Get each running on Android and iOs using native code. Then once,
running, deploy CouchApp.
2. TouchDB (Many verisons of it floating around, it seems to be not
ready yet)
3. Use https://github.com/couchbaselabs/Android-Couchbase-Callback,
(but there is no iOs version)

As you can see, I am confused. Has anyone sorted out the current best
approach?

Thanks!
Greg

Yeah, things are kind of fluid at the moment. I'm no expert, but I
think TouchDb (Obj-C/Java implementation of CouchDB) is going to be the
way to go.

Android-Couchbase-Callback combines Couchbase (mobile) + PhoneGap
(previously Callback, now Cordova on Apache Incubator). This is an
HTML5 wrapper for many of the popular phone OS's. So a cross platform
solution for IOS and Android could be TouchDB + PhoneGap. Hope I didn't
muddy the water more.

By the way there is also PouchDb, an HTML5 implementation of CouchDb.

Most of these projects can be found on github.

i myself working on the android update of couchdb. You can eventually in the mean rime use the unmaintend version of andoid couchdb on their couchbaselabs repo. Touchdb isn't for couchapps, more a way to synchronize the data.

I wouldn't say that TouchDB isn't for couchapps. The Android port
already has initial support for JavaScript and an HTTP Listener. I
expect to eventually have a variant of the Android-Couchbase-Callback
project which uses TouchDB.
