to couchofdoom
my stolen scripture
like butterflies from handgrenades
shrapnel and shoestrings
entwined on the hypnotist
who dances to showtunes
and claims royal ancestry
amid riotous applause
and calls for a suitcase
his rapture is vertical
his cosmos in synch
with the waves
and the wind
and the isolated truths
which dangle from clotheslines
like spirit wings
and dragonscale
you sift through the dust
and the chalklines on sidewalk
scoop all my memories
and bootheel them all
i'm severed and regretted
and sidestepped and tethered
your eyeliner's left dripping
into salt-sodden streets
but no matter the skullchips
or brainprotein pancakes
which pave way to uptown
i'm eternal sunstroked
my cheeks bleed and peel free
like spirit wings
and dragonscale
caught on wind fingers
and dashed on the reef.
