I finally upgraded my mac so I can run PS 2023 - in doing so, I purchased the most recent NIK plug-ins (they've been part of my workflow since they were free with google). with the new computer, new compatible PS software, I figured why not, and purchased the newest NIK plugins... and I'm glad I did. The plugins connected right to photoshop automatically and are under the "filters" menu. It's a little different, but many of the same tools and presets and new ones as well. My images have nev

I wonder where it is on Mac. I tried getting that free and original Nik Collection under Application/Photoshop/Plugin but it doesn't work on my new computer. My order computer has that and it doesn't work...

I have got the original Google Nik Collection 1.2.11. Which I purchased from them for 120.00 in 2014 and then in 2017, Google sold the Nik Collection to collection to DxO Labs.
So, my Google Nik Collection is from Google and not from DxO Labs.

When you first start the installation of the Nik collection, it will start and open up only Adobe Bridge for you to be able to add the Plug-ins.
From there: click on the + mark sign and choose the location main folder.
Which the location is in the C: Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop\Plug-ins folder.
Select the Plug-ins folder and then Click OK and then it will install and create a folder in Photoshop\Plug-ins folder.

My images have never looked better. I'd recommend the newest version. The only issue I've seen is the HD plug in (still looks like version 2 while the rest are 6). It doesn't work right... otherwise, its awesome.

So what version of the Nik Collection have you got, for you are not able to work in Photoshop?

The best way to install Nik Collection in order to work properly and the way I found it worked for me!

Turns ou taht reinstalling the nik 5 after downloading from their site (my license is ofcourse valid) fixed the problem - DxO was the same btw. During the reinstallation, the app finds the current Adobe versions ( I subscribe) and fixes it all to work again.

So, try can copy your Google/Nik folder from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\Nik Collection\ to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC and see if that makes a difference.

Ok, probably i figured out how to do, thats gone work. So... I instaled again Photoshop 2022, reinstaled google nik collection (nikcollection-full-1.2.11). When instalation of nik collection starts he finds only Adobe Bridge, click + mark and choose location to your main PS2022 folder.

I'm on Mac Montery PS 24 and the Google Filters opens, but crashes PS when the filter is applied (Silver Effects). Anyone else? To address some other people's problems: I've had the filter act like it was working and then failing to produce the usual new layer. A work around is to then apply the filter again from PS last filter in the drop down. This applies the filter effect to the original without the layer. Any help on the full PS crash appreciated.

Intel I7 and Intel HD graphics, thankfully this wasn't the problem, I've managed to now fix it.
I've always had to drag and drop my files every year but this year with PS23 there wasn't a physical folder to drag and drop but the good news I right clicked and found there is a 'show package contents' on the application and inside that I was able to drag and drop the NIK collection plus-ins and it is now working as it should. :party_popper:

Hi @rodrigounda, which version of the Nik Collection are you using? It's working fine for me (Windows 10, Photoshop 24.3 Release). When you say it doesn't work at all, is it grayed out on your menu? Is it crashing before or on trying to launch? Do all the other filters work normally? Does this happen with any image you try with the filters? Did you check the Image > Mode of the file? If it worked fine on the previous release, you may need to revert until you can figure out what's happening. Any more details you can provide will be good to know to see if we can help.

I can edit in all the editors, but it will not put it in a new layer once I am finishing editing. When I edit in NIK then press the OK button, a new Photoshop Elements icon flashes on my task bar. The NIK collection will work and edit in LRC. What did I do wrong or is anyone else have/had this issue. Thank You

Jeff Arola, after playing with this for a little while. I opened the picture in HDR PRO and had no issues. Then I opened the same image in Color effect,Silver Pro, etc and went to settings and changed it to open image in the same layer. So far it seems to be working. Thanks for the help and direction in figuring this out.

I am running Windows 10 lastest update. Yes I did. NIK collection shows up in my filters pull down menu. I can use any of the filters in NIK collection to edit/modify my picture. Yet when I press the OK button at the bottom of the NIK filter page, it does not bring up my edited picture in Photoshop Elements. I just get another icon of PSE that flashes. Thanks

Hi @photosbyKISHEN I'm not having any trouble with the Nik filters. What do you mean exactly by it will not launch or start? Are you seeing the collection under Filter menu with no images open? Is the Google folder in the right directory on your C-drive? Look in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2021\Plug-ins\Google. If all that is correct, what type of image are you trying to apply the filters to? Did you check the Image Mode? Nik won't work with CMYK images. Let us know!

Excellent, this worked. Thanks everyone for their solution. I did buy a new desktop and re-installed from scratch, yet this software failed to launch. It installed perfectly, but just failed. I did exactly what @RosaPerry mentioned and it worked like a charm.

I have the Nik Collection for about 10 years! Do you mean you bought a new computer? Or updated it (by installing updates)? I the same problem with I UPGRADED (bought a new) my computer. I had to find the Nik Collection under one of the Program Files folders (there are 2, I believe). When I found the Nik folder, I right-clicked on it and selected copy (I found mine in the Adobe Photoshop 2021 folder), and then I went to the Adobe Photoshop 2022 folder, clicked on the folder to open it, and then pasted it it in and the Nik folder was now copied into the new Photoshop 2022 version. When I opened Photoshop, I found the Nik Collection located under FILTERS tab across the top. I clicked on FILTERS and the Nik software showed up at the very bottom. I don't know if that helps, but hope so. Thank you.

Dear Diane, in past your procedure worked but not now with Photoshop 2023. Nik Collection is installed (or copied the folder into Photoshop 2023 related program files folder), it is possible to find it in the Filter when I openned Photoshop, it is possible to work with Nik Collection but my work is not saved. When I close the window and return to Photoshop the photo is not edited and it is the same as before using Nik Collection.

I just installed photoshop 2023 and put NIK collection in the plug in folder after copying from my previous version. All this is fine except when you try to use NIK filters, you get a message from DxO asking you to take a 15 day trial or buy it! Anyone have experienced that?

I have the old "original Nik" collection (maybe 10 years old) but updated over the years. Can't determine if you upgraded your actual computer or if you mean you "installed the latest updates." In any event, if have a new computer then you'll have to add the Nik folder to the Photoshop 2022 Foder. If it's an existing computer, you will need to check if the Nik folder is in the Photoshop 2022 folder, then you should be good to go. Either way (new or existing computer), you need to make sure the Nik is associated with the Photoshop 2022 folder. You will see "Nik" at bottom of the "Filter" dropdown as "Jain" wrote below. Good luck!
