Dear all,
The DEDIS team is very happy to announce the v1 release of the Cothority project [1,2,3].
Changes from v0 to v1:
- Extraction of the cothority network layer into its own library called ONet [2]. Besides better maintainability, it allows projects that only require network handling to get rid of the cothority dependencies.
- Countless bug fixes and general code clean up.
- Improved documentation.
- Release of the cothority_template [3] showing how to implement new cothority protocols, services and (client) applications.
Next steps:
- Cleanup of the DEDIS crypto library.
- Cleanup of the threshold Schnorr signature scheme implementation.
- Enable decentralized randomness-as-a-service through RandHound.
- Setup a status website for the DEDIS cothority.
- Write a conode-membership management tool.
Meanwhile, the number of DEDIS cothority servers increased from 5 to a stunning 7!! 8-) Don’t wait too long until you set up your own conode and join the crowd, the early adopter phase is almost over. ;-)
All the best,
The DEDIS team
