Bowdoin College’s Program of Neuroscience invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in Neuroscience at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2026. We seek applicants whose research involves methodological approaches in artificial intelligence (AI) to study brain mechanisms. The subdiscipline within Neuroscience is open (e.g., cognitive, computational, theoretical). A PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related discipline is expected by the date of appointment; post-doctoral research is preferred. The teaching load is three courses per year and anticipated to include a mid-level lab course using AI methods, an upper-level seminar, and a Neuroscience elective or introductory level course related to the candidate’s area of expertise. Bowdoin is particularly interested in candidates dedicated to undergraduate teaching and with a promise of long-term successful research and/or creative work.

Bowdoin College accepts only electronic submissions. Please visit https://careers.bowdoin.edu to submit: 1) a cover letter; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) a description of your research plans; 4) a statement that describes your teaching philosophy and practice, including how you create learning environments that prepare students to interact constructively with different people, spaces, situations, and ideas; and 5) the names and contact information for three references who have agreed to provide letters of recommendation. Submitted documents should be concise with each limited to 2-3 pages in length.

Review of applications will begin September 9, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
