The Noorman lab is seeking a postdoc in theoretical and computational neuroscience. We study how properties of synapses, neurons, and circuits shape the neural dynamics that enable flexible and efficient computation. Our approach combines analytic and computational methods by developing minimal models that capture core dynamical properties of neural computations and, in collaboration with experimentalists, data-driven computational models to uncover the mechanisms driving these dynamics. Examples include:
The Noorman lab is opening in July 2025 at the University of Chicago’s Grossman Center for Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior. There are currently multiple postdoctoral positions available within the Grossman Center.
