to Cosua - Coalition of Supporters Unions of Africa
Coalition of Supporters Unions of Africa (COUSA) is a Pan African
sports support organization which seeks to promote and achieve African
Unity through sports. We plan to mobilize citizens of all the 53
countries of Africa together to support African representatives in all
international sporting activities in which Africa is represented.
Through this, we intend to create a melting pot of social integration
of Africans and people of African descent in a most spontaneous
manner, using the innate passion of the African people when it comes
to sports.
VISION
To be the unified sports support base of Africa for the purpose of
harnessing opportunities for Africa Unity, Peace and Development.
MISSION
To create a platform for the social integration of all Africans and
people of Afican descent through mobilization of sports supporters to
support African teams at the 2010 World Cup, and in all other
subsequent sporting events in which Africa is represented.
Concept
On the SOCIO-POLITICAL front, the process of putting together this
massive 2010 support base for Africa is the same process that
initiates the most extensive social-integration process that has ever
been attempted in Africa! In fact the project estimates that by the
time 2010 kicks off, 40-50 million Africans would have been mobilized,
with the number reaching 100million by the end of the year.
ECONOMICALLY, the very concept of putting all these people in touch
with each other by breaking all the physical and geographic boundaries
expands trade barriers and enhances economic activities of all kinds.
It also creates a database of real living Africans who constitute a
veritable captive market for business purposes. This database is
projected to start with some 40 million people from all the 53
countries by the time the 2010 World Cup kicks off, to reach 100
million by the end of the year, and record a steady growth of about
50% per annum for the next 10 years.
