  • ¡Zorra! (insulto)
    You slut! (insult)

  • pillar una zorra
    to get sloshed

  • No tengo ni zorra idea.
    I haven’t a bloody clue.

  • Ahora que los bares están cerrados, extraño a las zorras.
    Now that the bars are closed, I miss the friendly girls.

Zorras in Costa Rica quite often refers to informal prostitutes... part-timers who might get a little extra money from playing around, but don't do it full time.  The money would usually come in the form of a gift rather than a payment (e.g. "here, take a little money to buy something for your kids") thereby making the process more like an occasional girlfriend sort of arrangement rather than someone hanging out on a street corner looking for Johns.

Of course in Costa Rica, we have very rare the zoological fox, so we have other types of common "zorros"...

zorro pelón - possum
zorro meón - skunk
zorro - any generic sort of small animal like the above

The zoological Gray Fox does actually exist in Costa Rica, but like so many other animals they have been hunted too much y/o try to live far away from humans.
