Many people know that Frank Lloyd Wright was a famous architect and that the job of architect entails designing buildings. Upon completion of undergraduate or postgraduate programs, architects must complete a three-year internship before taking the Architect Registration Examination administered by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, or NCARB. This exam is designed to test the knowledge and skills regarding architecture to become a licensed architect. Most states require licensure and continued education to remain in compliance.
The architect consults with clients to determine their requirements and to prepare drawings and specifications of the concept. The designs must comply with building, safety and local planning regulations and restrictions. Regular client meetings are involved in discussing design proposals.
During this phase, the architect visits the construction site and meets with the construction crew to oversee the construction, signing off on various pieces of work, negotiating with contractors if needed, and resolving any problems that arise.

Architects deal with the aesthetics and functionality of the structural work. Civil engineers and architects often work with each other. Civil engineers analyze and evaluate the structural integrity of the design that the architect creates.

System architecture is intricately connected to customer value delivery. This is because architectures can either make value delivery a fast, incremental process the team and stakeholders can control or a nightmare with unpredictable timelines and harsh consequences for the customer and the business. Additionally, the Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP) has a structure that needs to be defined in a manner that best supports the needs of the ART.
Although they work together closely, a security architect is generally more senior than a security engineer. Security architects set the vision for security systems, and engineers figure out how to put it into practice. Security engineers could move into security architecture roles if they want to transition from hands-on cybersecurity into policy and governance.
Security architects still need to keep their skills current so they fully understand the latest techniques and how to prevent the newest threats. Although it may no longer be their main responsibility, security architects should occasionally test their skills through war games or capture the flag activities.

Given the advanced level of the position, it's not surprising that there are fewer jobs available than for other jobs, like cybersecurity analyst.
The California Architects Board (Board) was created in 1901 by the California Legislature to fulfill the mission of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public through the regulation of the practice of architecture in California. It is one of numerous entities within the Department of Consumer Affairs responsible for consumer protection and the regulation of licensed professionals. The Board establishes regulations for examination and licensing of the profession of architecture in California, which today numbers over 21,000 licensed architects and approximately 10,000 candidates who are in the process of meeting examination and licensure requirements.
Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1010 into law on September 16, 2021. It requires California architects to complete five (5) hours of continuing education (CE) coursework regarding zero net carbon design (ZNCD) for all license renewals on or after January 1, 2023. The Board has created frequently asked questions regarding this new requirement.
If the board or department finds, after proper notice and hearing, that the architect failed to comply with these requirements or falsified documentation of required continuing education (CE), the architect may be subject to enforcement action pursuant to section 20-294 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

Professional Degree - Applicant shall submit evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant holds a professional degree in architecture from an accredited school and has obtained at least three years' practical experience in the employ of or under the direct supervision of a registered architect or as part of the applicant's academic training.
*In lieu of a professional degree in architecture, the board may accept evidence of at least six years' practical experience obtained in the employ of or under the direct supervision of a registered architect which may include academic training.
In addition, the board may issue a certificate to individuals who have lawfully practiced architecture in another state or country for a period of more than ten years if such individual achieves a satisfactory score on a practical examination.
