CoSpaces works on most modern smartphones with an iOS or Android operating system.

Also, the phone needs an in-built gyroscope sensor – otherwise it won’t be able to go to VR or 360° mode. Even though you might have never heard about this gyroscope sensor, it’s pretty likely that your phone has got one.

There is an easy way to find out before installing anything. Just go to this list of 360° videos on YouTube and select any of it. Look out for the little white headset icon in the lower right-hand corner. If you tap it and move the phone around, you should be able to control where you look “inside” the 360° video. If you’re phone passes this test, it most likely also supports the VR features of the CoSpaces app.

I'm trying to get the CoSpaces working on a Lenny 2. AFAIK it has a gyroscope and motion sensors. Unfortunately I can't see the headset icon in the videos and I can control the VR in CoSpaces only manually. Do you have any hints for me?

Hi,

according to this specification sheet the Lenny 2 doesn't have a physical gyroscope build in. Can you please check again?

We've made the experience that many low to middle class Android phones don't have a physical gyroscope. Therefore the CoSpaces VR/gyroscope mode can't work because it needs the data from the sensor.
