CoSpaces currently works with any cardboard headset, such as the Google Cardboard or the Mattel View-Master.

There are two things, you should pay special attention to when deciding for a cardboard headset:

  1. Will my phone fit in?

Large smartphones, for example, might not fit into the Mattel View-Master.

  1. Does it have a button/hole?

You need to touch the screen in order to walk around in VR when using CoSpaces. If your headset has a button, this button will trigger a mechanism that touches the screen for you. Other headsets just have a little hole that allows you to put your finger through and touch the screen.
There are also headsets that offer neither of these possibilities. With these, you might not be able to walk around in virtual reality.

We are also working on bringing CoSpaces to Gear VR and Google Daydream.

Has there been any progress on making CoSpaces viewable using Gear VR headsets?  Or is there a Cardboard emulator workaround?

Is there any way to keep the phone awake while using the app because it sleeps while the app is on.

The easiest way is to go to your phone's display settings and change the time it takes for your phone to switch to the sleep mode there.

Our next plans are to publish CoSpaces for Gear VR, Google Daydream and HTC Vive (in around that order). Oculus Rift might also come later.

Hello from Italy.
I'm a Minecraft educator involved in the coderdojo movement in Italy and a well-known promoter of game-based learning didactic in the school.
I would like to introduce CoSpaces as educational tool and use it with the HTC Vive.

Hope to give my contribute to this forum.

Ciao!
Marco

We have started porting CoSpaces to HTC Vive. Hopefully, we will have it by summer.
