We are currently working on classroom management features in CoSpaces and possibly also an integration with Google Classroom. If there are any classroom management features that you would find really helpful for CoSpaces, please send us a message – maybe we can include your wishes in our solution.

I would also like this feature. It would be handy to be able to see what the students are creating as they go. It would also be helpful to have it be able to tie in with Google Classroom for grading and assessment tools.

Hi Eddie, thanks for the feedback. A colleague of mine is working on the classroom concept right now. I will forward him your message.
There will definitely be the possibility to observe your students' progress.

How are you doing with coSpaces classrooms? I would need this feature to create accounts for my elementary students. Do you have a target time of availability?

We are planning to release the first version of CoSpaces with classroom management at the beginning of this summer.

One interesting idea is if you can create 'plugins' or an API so it can be implemented into other LMS projects such as Moodle, Sakai or Blackboard as a SCORM/Tin Can like resource. That way if you integrate it into mobile eLearning or mLearning, it could be launched as a resource or even a lesson component with a simple 'ping' back to the LMS to say the student has accessed the CoSpace.

Hi Mike, thanks for your suggestion. We're currently working on the first version of CoSpaces Classroom but this is something that we might look into later. Is there any learning management system that is especially important to you?

Will CoSpaces Classroom have access to the blockly and javascript coding components?
Also, I would love to see CoSpaces integrate with Google Classroom!

No worries and thanks for the reply. If say if we were to use it in my current organisation it would be Moodle (and its open source spin offs) and generally I'd say that as a must if you open up to other LMS platforms. As second choice I know blackboard is popular with a lot of UK institutions and Sakai is catching up as HE institutions like universities come to adopt it.

Thanks so much for sharing! As I said, an integration with LMS's is not top priority at the moment, but we will consider your input when we start to look into the topic.

What should CoSpaces contain in order to be integrated with Google Classroom? You can currently share a view link and post it to Classroom. Posting an assignment link there is enough?

Looking forward to the integration version. It would be great for a teacher to have access to student projects from within a dashboard. If the tool was integrated with Google Drive and/or Google Classroom that would accomplish both collaboration possibilities and sharing with a teacher. Again, looking forward to seeing the new features.

Hi Thomas,

I'd like to see a feature in which I can assign a space to students to work in and build upon. In Google Classroom, this works two ways with Google Docs, Slides, and other creations from Google Drive: students can all add to a single assignment or document (this kind of collaboration would be really cool!) or students can each receive their own copy of a document to complete. In CoSpaces, I could see both options being helpful. In some instances, I would like to co-construct images with my students. In other instances, I would like to give them an option to construct their own version.

If students create their own space and share it with me, it would also be helpful to be able to see their code. I am a technology teacher and the coding and technology aspect is the content for my class. If I can see a student's code, it allows me to offer feedback.

I can't stress how useful Google Classroom integration would be to me. I have 16 different sections of students I teach. If Google Classroom can be my go-to portal, I can easily copy assignments to my other sections (6 are the same grade, another 6 are the same grade, and 4 are unique sections), this allows me to same a ton of time as an instructor.

Thank you,
Mary
