Prezados colegas,
Gostaria de convidá-los para o seminário "Redshift Drift: Theory and Observation", que será apresentado pelo Dr. Pedro Bessa.
Resumo: The redshift drift, a subtle change in the redshift of distant objects over time, stands as a key observable in modern cosmology. This phenomenon offers a direct glimpse into the dynamic evolution of the universe, providing critical insights into its expansion history and the nature of dark energy. In this talk, I will present the theoretical foundations of the redshift drift, highlighting its importance in the broader context of cosmological observations. In addition to its theoretical significance, I will discuss my recent work on the future detection of this observable. This includes addressing the challenges posed by contaminating effects and how these can impact measurements. Moreover, I will share results from detailed modeling using n-body simulations, which provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the observational prospects of redshift drift in the near future. These findings contribute to refining the methods that will ultimately allow us to measure and interpret this subtle cosmological effect.
O evento ocorrerá presencialmente na sala 1 do PPGFis, quarta-feira 23 de outubro às 15:00.
Atenciosamente,
Valerio
