If spilled water ends up inside your keyboard, you may find that some or all of your keys become unresponsive. Similarly, water droplets can make their way into the edges of your trackpad, creating some erratic behavior.

Many computers, including Apple MacBook Pros, use a water indicator to determine whether or not the device has come in contact with water. You can look up your computer model to see where and how to check yours. Of course, an activated sensor will likely void your warranty with the computer manufacturer.

So when the time comes when you accidentally spill on your keyboard, turn the power off, gently lift up your device (keeping it level), place one absorbent towel or napkin underneath, rest another atop your keyboard, and sit back. Avoid using your device for a while so the drain can work properly.

This is a plug and play children's keyboard which works on the PC. Entirely spill-proof and washable, the keyboard has been ergonomically designed for young children, and the keys have been color coded to enhance the learning experience, the most importance is that it is safe and healthy to your children.

The Drop ENTR is a finely crafted keyboard. You can feel the quality of its composition as you slide your fingers along the edges of the base and press down the keys. It is beyond the passable, and even good, craftsmanship you find in mass-produced keyboards from major manufacturers, including ones that charge more money for their more feature-rich designs. Priced at $90, the Drop ENTR is far and away the best pure typing experience you'll find for less than $100. For that, the ENTR rides high as the PCMag Editors' Choice for budget mechanical keyboards.

At the same time, a pricier keyboard like the $199.99, Editors' Choice award-winning Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT brings more utility to the table. Config apps, dedicated media keys, USB passthrough, wireless connectivity: These features have value, and it would be a mistake to dismiss what they offer. But for clean, comfortable typing, this is as good as it gets at a sub-$100 price.

My Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition 2014 has been causing some issues lately, I press one key and it registers it as 2 or 3 keystrokes. It was a little infuriating at first but it has come to a point where it is a challenge to even form a sentence. The keyboard was kept clean, there wasn't any case of liquid spilling.

I have purchased a 99.9% isopropyl alcohol solution for the cleaning, however it's hard to come up with a good cleaning method when everyone's doing their own method. I've read that 99.9% isopropyl might be actually dangerous for the keyboard. That's why some people mix it with water to drop the percentage. However, I'm afraid of water damaging the keyboard too.

So, I'm lost. Is 99.9% isopropyl okay for cleaning or is it dangerous? If it is dangerous, should I mix it with water and if so, with how many percentage should I dilute it? 50/50? 75/25? I don't really know, I really need some help on this matter. I'm looking for you guys' assistance on this matter. Thank you.

Take apart the keyboard completely, keep the purely electronic components separate, and clean those alone with the alcohol straight from the bottle, and be sure to rub off any remains with cotton balls and the softest paper-towels you have... and clean everything else that's not electrical as you would for delicate dishes; light soap and warm water (NOT too hot, but not cold either) and then let it all dry overnight and you should be fine.

If your keys are sticky or sticking after they're dry, carefully remove the membrane or mechanical keycaps in and around the affected area. Use a keycap puller if you have one. Rinse any sticky keycaps with warm water or an alcohol swab. Be sure to take a picture or keep the keycaps in order, so you can easily reassemble them.

If keys are acting up, you might need to unscrew your keyboard and try to dry out any moisture that seeped further in. If this still doesn't work, you might be running out of options aside from taking it into a shop or replacing it entirely.
