PhD position at Lamarr Institute

We are excited to announce another open PhD position at the Lamarr Institute at TU Dortmund University, Germany. 

The candidate will join the newly established groups "AutoML and Optimization", led by Matthias Feurer, and "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence", led by Katharina Eggensperger. The position is about pushing the boundaries of what is possible with tabular foundation models, prior-data fitted networks, zero-shot inference models and applying them to novel applications within explainable AI and machine learning in science.

PS: The Lamarr Institute, one of six of Germany's major AI competence centers, is shaping a new generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is high performing, sustainable, trustworthy and secure to contribute to solving fundamental challenges in business and society. The position is also embedded in the computer science department of TU Dortmund University that has a strong focus on artificial intelligence (9 professors) and is also one of Germany's largest Computer Science departments (30 professors by October). TU Dortmund University furthermore has the only statistics faculty within Germany, with which we collaborate closely.
