About a year ago I was talked out of selling my '69 - but in the intervening year I haven't found that "spark" again and thought I'd let it go this summer.

I've never sold a car before (just traded in daily drivers for their replacement), so I'm looking for suggestions on sites to start.  (And for what it's worth, I'm located in the Omaha, Nebraska area.)  See below for the repairs and updates I've made.  The car isn't a show car by any means, but was a fun daily driver the few years I could.

If I had to do this without others input, the only options for selling it I'd know of are car shows, eBay Motors, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and the local papers classified ads are all I really know.

Thanks for any advice you can provide!
Dan

Repairs and updates:
  • Non-original paint (factory white, currently red)
  • Non-original engine (350) and automatic transmission
  • I did have the engine rebuilt ~14 years ago
    • Summit Racing heads ( SUM-152123)
    • Edelbrock 1406 carburetor
  • In 2001 I had a full set of urethane bushings installed, along with replacing the rear leaf spring with a fiberglass one from Ecklers.
  • In 2008 I had the engine and control arm bushing replaced with "Energy Suspension" bushings.
  • The center console was highly damaged when I got it (previous owner used a grinder to get an aftermarket radio to fit), so I restored the aluminum frame and replaced the radio with a Sony AM/FM/CD (1996 vintage) from Crutchfield.

Hi Dan,

Sorry I'm replying so late to your post about the 69, I kinda fell off the CRPL mail list.  If you haven't sold your 69 I definitely can help you and have many recommendations for you.

Sincerely,

Hi Dan,
I have liked for while now Bring a Trailer, but make sure you set a reserve for the car. How original is the 69 ? I often look at what there selling for on the Mecum site to get an estimate. Also, Hagerty’s site is also good for estimates. If you set the reserve high on your 69 on Bring a Trailer you can get a feel for what the car might bring, then if the car doesn’t sell they allow the seller to reach out to the highest bidder to possibly make a final deal. Let me know if you have any questions.

-Todd

Hi Dan,

Sorry I'm so late to your conversation, but kind of fell out of the CRPL communications because I stopped getting the postings.  Let me know if I'm too late on your 69 selling questions, if not I most definitely will be able to give you some guidance.

Sincerely,

-Todd Rakofsky
