FWIW, Google would not be my choice.  I, too, have a gmail account because I
have an Android phone ,that I NEVER use,.  That said, Google is the most

information and obviously from the multiple comments posted recently their
group/ listserv service is not exactly "user friendly" if you don't want to
use a gmail account.

The Yahoo! groups option is a bit nicer looking in my opinion, but that's a non-issue for anyone using it as an email list.  Beyond that, Yahoo! too asks for a lot of login information and requires a @yahoo.com email address to sign-in.  As the internet saying goes, "If it's Free Then It's You That's Being Sold" - that "no monthly charge" and general convenience comes with a price.

Others mentioned various existing automotive enthusiast sites using another list server or a bulletin-board feature.  I'm checking into the list server that VetteNet.org uses so we'll see where that goes.  If we go with the bulletin-board feature and our own domain, we're looking into a real cost per year (server on the internet, admin maintenance, etc).  While *I* can do the admin maintenance on a Unix server, the cost per year for own server will be a new added cost (most are $10/month for just the server, if we do all the administration and maintenance).

I'm going to make every effort to test out the Yahoo! groups option a bit more this weekend.  When I get somewhere on that I'll post back to the group.

Thanks again for your patience.
