What is an area plan?

It's a long-range planning document, shaped by community input, that will amend the City's Comprehensive Plan to identify planned land uses and public projects, programs and policies to meet land use and transportation needs now and in the future.

Just a heads up everyone -- in that email, ODOT inadvertently used a photo of S. 3rd/Hwy 99W, which is in South Corvallis. This meeting will be focused on SW Corvallis, which does not include any of S. 3rd/Hwy 99W. Please visit the area plan page (linked in the email) to understand the boundaries of this particular project (generally west of the Marys River and south of SW Reservoir Ave.).

There was a really good turnout for the first public event for the SW Corvallis Area Plan on Saturday. I only made it for the 2nd half but it was encouraging to hear participants requesting sidewalks, bicycle networks, and mixed use neighborhoods (as well as natural area protection).
Corvallis has a website with information on the SW Corvallis Areas Plan and a link to a survey with questions about your ideas and priorities for the area, as well as an interactive map. The survey is open until Friday, January 9, 2026. Stay tuned for the next public event in April, 2026.
