Hello all,

I am venturing into 3D printing and have just recently received a Printrbot kit.  I know it's one of the newer kids on the block - does anyone have any experience with this brand?

Just went through the BOM, and have already found I'm missing a very important component (they sent two of one sidewall, and none of the opposing sidewall).  So it looks like they're still having a few early QC issues.

Also - I'm very curious about Filabot, which I saw last week in Popular Science.  It recycles household plastics into 3D printer usable filament.  I will likely attempt to either use the open source plans or (if the price is right) purchase one of their kits.  Again, if anyone has any experience or comments on Filabot, I'd be interested in conversation on that subject too.

I will let you guys know how it all goes as I make progress.

Best,
Brad

Here is Mark's reply. He hasn't subscribed to the corvallis-techshop list,
so he can't reply directly.

Hi Mark,

I see, thanks for the heads up.  Did you use the main instructions at http://printrbot.dozuki.com/Guide/Printrbot+Plus/24/1 ?  These seem hard to follow to me - poor grammar, a lot of ambiguity, and a lack of specificity in the instructions that I've followed so far have left me unnerved.

Wish I could make it to EMS.  Unfortunately I moved out of the area recently.
