PIC chips and LED's

My Digikey order placed on Tuesday came yesterday. Always amazed by that. 

I got some PIC 18 processors. $2.12 for 32K program space / 1.5K data / 24 IO pins etc etc...  How could I not buy 10?

Also found a $100 eval kit for a TI RGB LED controller (TLC59116FEVM-571) and plugged it in last night and got its 16 programmable LED's blinking away... MAN those tiny surface mount LED's are painfully bright. Barely visible to the naked 56 yo eye when OFF. 

The prospect of fiddling with RGB leds is amazing to me. Maybe I am just easily entertained?

Hoping to have a PIC18 driving the eval kit by Sunday night. (The kit comes with a USB - GPIO interface that drives it from Windows) It could happen.

It's so fun living at this end of civilization. also having disposable income to compensate for the lack of time.
