Hello,

Forgive me if this is not the appropriate place to post.  But for those of you who know me, we have a new OSU faculty member who is new to OR and looking for a cat sitter / boarding arrangement.  I'll paste her details below but if anyone can help or has a recommendation, I'd lie eager to hear it.  Thanks!  Jeremy

I have a cuddly and vivacious cat (Steve) who lives in my little apartment with me, and who will be without me from December 6 - December 28th.

Do you know anyone who could catsit him?  I'd very happily pay (in money, Cleveland Stadium mustard, or beer/local spirits from Michigan and Ohio) to have him well taken care of, but the professional cat-sitter I've scheduled for my weekend trips back to Akron this term charges $35/hr, and I just can't afford that for three weeks in a row, nor do I really want Steve to have companionship for only an hour a day during that time. It seems cruel. Ideally, I'd like to have Steve board with someone, but I'm also happy to work out some sort of arrangement where the cat-sitter stays at my place every other night during the month, or something like that.

About Steve:
He's around five years old, and a great mouser. He's very good with new people, and warms up to folks quickly -- he'll be happy to play almost immediately.  He's a good cuddler. He doesn't have problems with litter box usage or cleanliness, and has been in great health ever since we adopted him four years ago. He has his front claws.

As I said above, I'm happy to have someone spend every other night over at my place, but ideally I'd like him to live with his caretakers from the 6th-28th.  A petless household is best, but if someone is willing to cat-sit and has a dog, that might work: Carson and I had a Weimaraner when we first got Steve, and the two of them got along amazingly well from day one (see the videos linked below). In other words, as long a dog is well behaved around cats, Steve is copacetic.  Having said that, I can't guarantee anything. Unfortunately, Steve doesn't get along with other cats.

Please forward this around to anyone in your neighborhood (or anyone you know in Oregon, honestly -- I'm happy to drive Steve a couple hours to find him a good temporary home) who you think might be willing to help me out.
I'm attaching a couple pictures because his face is adorable, as well as links to videos of Steve and the dog having a great time together:
