Sad News - James Traut

Hi - sorry to use this list for this kind of notification but Jim Traut was one of the stalwarts for Ultimate Frisbee at HP and City League - even playing in some HP tournaments when we would travel to Northern California and Corvallis tournaments too - this was while he was in his 60s! (at least when I remember playing with him). Jim was an example that continuing to play frisbee kept you young in body and mind!

RIP Jim - I'll dedicate my next hammer to you ... at least the next one that gets caught ... so it might be awhile :)

Good one Tze,

   I enjoyed Jim when we first met at HP in 92.  He's the one that got me involved with working the track meets at Hayward field.   He was a fine athlete in his own right.

We typically play starting at approximately 12:30 until about 1:45 or so, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays if there are enough to play. We have recently been playing at 11th and Madison, near OSU campus when the weather is nice, or at the "Student Legacy Park" on the turf when the ground is soft.

Thanks Tze.  I remember Jim on the HP ultimate field in the '90s.   A really good athlete in his 50s.   It was great going to tournaments and having gray-haired Jim that kept up with the youngsters!   Then Jim left the Corvallis site in one of the wafer fab business transfers as I remember.
