Forgive me if this is too complicated to answer here...

I'm trying to set up a Google Analytics conversion goal by using the URI for a "You Were Successful - Thank You page" to see if any of the things I'm doing gets people to actually Sign Up for anything. The URLs for those pages are slightly different from the domain URL due it being hosted by a "secure" cloud version of our website.

Is there a workaround for this that I'm not finding?

Thanks,
Cynthia

Cynthia,

I'm assuming this is for the Arts Center. I took a look and looks like the secure area is still on the theartscenter.net domain. That means you ~can~ track it. Thats the good news. The bad news is the secure pages dont have the Google Analytics tracking script so it is not tracking. Thats the bad news.

Easiest solution I can think of. Move the "thank you" page off the secure area and into the Wordpress site. Its a thank you page and doesn't need to pass any private info. Then the tracking script which is set up on Wordpress will apply and work. Google Analytics will be blind to the activity on the secure pages, but at least you can track goal conversions.

The alternative is to get the tracking script onto the hosted secure area. Im guessing that may not be easy.

Feel free to send me an email if you have more questions. We have been sharpening up on tracking conversions and data collection lately.

Loyan,
Thanks for saving me a lot of time trying to do stuff I'm not able to do with my limited abilities! And it doesn't help that Google Analytics HELP is written for the more technically knowledgeable than this user.

I'll see if I can get the Thanks you pages off the secure area and/or get analytics hooked up to them. Working with a 3rd party developer who is different than the website designer is crazy making.

My next line of questioning will be about Google non-profit Grants for adwords, but understanding how to track conversions was the first step...
Thanks again for always being so willing to share info. What would this town do without ya?!

Cynthia
