All:
I’ve attached an updated list of people associated with our group. I’ve also made sure everyone on the list is included in the email. Which brings up a little business I think we need to attend to.
I know, we’re supposed to be a (dis)organization built on the foundation that we don’t have officers, meeting agendas or dues. This works well most of the time, but as we’re starting to attract a larger cast of characters, keeping everyone informed is becoming a little more difficult.
An Order of Business:
When each of us sends out email, it seems we’re not always including everyone. This happens to me also. Just look at the list of names above. It’s not easy making sure you have everyone that’s on the Word document I maintain (attached). And sometimes were including people who have asked to be removed from our list.
A few months ago, Tim Holt set us up with a group page on Google so we can maintain a membership listing in one place. He did it in such a way that he mitigates members from getting spammed through this web site. To date, a little over 20 of us have signed up.
It would be great if we could get everyone to sign up. This way, we no longer need to double check our email to make sure we have everyone included. By using the Google group, we simply send our email to corvallis-bri...@googlegroups.com. Everyone that is signed up gets the email. And if people decide they want off the list, they simply remove their name.
The way it is now, unless we make sure to remove people from our email messages, they continue to get emails. Daniel Couch asked to be removed about a year ago, but periodically he still gets emails.
So, please sign up for the Google group. It’s easy. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Pull up your web browser and enter this web address:
2. http://groups.google.com/group/corvallis-british-car-club
3. Look on the right side of the web page. Click on “Apply for group membership”
4. When you submit your information you do not immediately become a member. Tim Holt will need to approve you. He set it up this way to keep spammers from getting our email addresses.
5. Once you have registered, each time you come to the CBCC web-page, you’ll need to sign. To “Sign In”, follow these steps:
a. In the top right corner of the web-page is a link that says “Sign In”
b. Click on this
c. Enter your email address and password
d. Click the “Sign In” button
e. You should be in
Now to email the group, all you need to do is send your email to: corvallis-bri...@googlegroups.com
Everyone that has signed up will get your email. It is a lot easier to send emails by just emailing the group than trying to make sure you have all the individual names correct.
Note: I’m sending this message to the Google group as well as to the individual list I have. If you don’t receive two emails on this subject from me, either I didn’t get your email address correct, or you’re not signed up for the Google group.

I didn't get two e mails from you, Mike. I am a member signed in to the Google Group.

Larry,
Thanks for the “heads up” on this. I didn’t get two either. Not sure why not. It doesn’t look like I made a typo in the Google Group name.
Mike
I received feedback from a few people indicating they are signed up for our Google Group but they didn’t get two emails from me. I didn’t get two either and I’m not sure why.
In a few minutes I’m going to send a “test” email to the Google Group to make sure it’s working.
Mike
All:
I’ve been asked to add Bob Aldrich to our list of CBCC associates. Welcome Bob.
Dick Bays also asked to have his email address changed from mini...@juno.com to mini...@juno.com (look close – an ‘S’ has been added). I’ve updated the list – see attached.
I’ve also made sure everyone on the list is included in this email. If you don’t get this email, speak up (is that in the realm of a Lucas joke ?).
Again, here’s my appeal to get everyone to sign up for our Google Group so we no longer have to go through the painstaking process of making sure we have everyone included in our email.

I screwed up Dick Bays address in my previous email …… WHICH IS WHY EVERYONE SHOULD SIGN UP FOR GOOGLE GROUPS.
All:

Dick Bays also asked to have his email address changed from mini...@juno.com to mini...@yahoo.com. I’ve updated the list – see attached.
I have a couple of updates on the list.
Bob Aldrich gave me his car information … 1968 TR250 … You gotta love these TRs.
And Jack Istok provided a corrected email address (jack....@orst.edu). It’s doubtful Jack has gotten any emails … I know he hasn’t gotten any of mine.
Have I said anything to you guys (and ladies) about signing up for GOOGLE GROUPS? Okay, I’ll give it up for awhile.
…
…
….
So, because I’ve been a good boy and signed up for Google Groups – I get your wonderful missives twice.
What joy
