All,

1. Hooray, hooray the 28th Amendment bill (HJR 48)l has been introduced in
the current session of Congress. It can be found here:
https://movetoamend.org/wethepeopleamendment Please contact DeFazio's office
202-225-6416 and urge him to co-sponsor HJR 48 along with Representatives
Nolan, Pocan, Huffman, Cartwright, Ellison, and Grijalva!

2. CAMTA will have a booth at the Solidarity Fair this Saturday (noon to
4:30) in Central Park.
A. We could really use some cookies for those who stop by and chat (you
could drop them off at the Fair, or at Rachel and Bob's house (453 SE Powell
Ave, 541-758-3221)
B. Stop by for a light lunch (noon) and join in the conversations about
pay justice, gender justice, environmental justice, and one more that I
can't remember!

3. Wolf PAC agreed to the compromise language that MTA-OR offered and
their bill HJM 2 was amended by Legislative Council and was ready for
further consideration. HOWEVER, it appears that the Democratic caucus got
cold feet in their support for an Article V Constitutional Convention
thinking that such a convention would play in to the hands of ALEC and their
ilk would take over a runaway convention and wreak havoc with the
Constitution.

4. Our state-wide initiative suit against the Secretary of State for
rejecting our language lost in the Marion County Circuit Court. We appealed
the decision on 3/5 but are waiting to see which court will hear the appeal,
the Oregon Appellate or Oregon Supreme Court.
