i can't seem to get a gamelog out of it, not matter what i do, i'm gonna
try find my genuine copy of TH, and attemp to install it again.

"it minimizes and i'm prompted with the black window and it wont let me
play the game until i close the black window." Don't close this black
window, it is meant to run in the background.

If you are a windows user go to the start button and look for CorsixTH,
there is a shortcut there to the appdata folder and in there you will find
config.txt gamelog.txt and your saves folder.
It is gamelog.txt that we want, it could tell us what is going wrong for
you.

did you ever find the gamelog.txt ?

If there isn't one then perhaps the game did not throw an error and it was
a windows related problem.

Try running the game in windowed mode with smaller dimensions than
2560x1600 - perhaps try 1024x768 and see if it does the same thing.

Without the game log or any feedback there is not much we can do.
