Job Title: Windows Engineer With Linux
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Location: Irving, TX (Onsite)
Introduction:
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Engineer with strong Linux expertise to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Windows and Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
Administer and support Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, etc.) in a hybrid environment.
Perform system installations, configurations, upgrades, and patch management.
Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement necessary optimizations.
Collaborate with DevOps, network, and security teams to maintain system integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues related to both Windows and Linux platforms.
Implemented and managed virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and shell scripting.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.) is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or CompTIA Linux+ are advantageous.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of network protocols, firewall configurations, and VPNs.
