Interview: Three rounds of Video interview

 

Job Description:

The Windows Linux Admin will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows & Linux -based server operating systems and solutions in support of business operations. This role will also involve migrating Windows servers from various versions (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022) based on stakeholder requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based server operating systems and solutions.
  • Migrating Windows servers from 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
  • Administer and support various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Managing and supporting application servers from scratch.
  • Resolving escalated issues related to applications or servers, coaching other engineers to resolutions.
  • Implementing complex projects, maintaining, and overseeing technology services.
  • Providing on-call support on a 24x7 basis.
  • Virtualizing servers from physical to virtual as per client requirements.
  • Working on incidents, requests, and problem tickets.
  • Supporting compliance and security integrity of the environment.
  • Managing Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP queries.
  • Testing and deploying applications, software updates, and OS packages and patches using SCCM.
  • Creating/Managing Virtual Machines, creating clones and templates/images for deploying VMs.
  • Installing, configuring, and managing servers in the physical environment (DELL, UCS, and HP).
  • Performing software upgrades, security patches, and planned maintenance and reporting.
  • Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Manage and maintain web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx) and database servers (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Configure and maintain network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, NFS, Samba).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Proven experience as a Windows and Linux Administrator.

Strong knowledge of Windows & Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).

Understanding of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, routing).

Knowledge of system security practices.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
