Title : Cobol Developer
Location: Minnetonka Mills Minnesota
Must-have skills: iSeries, COBOL, AS400 (Mid-Range), ILE, COBOL/400, CLLE, SQL. 10+ years of hands-on coding in COBOL AS400/ILE. Experience with ACMS/MOM and strong exposure to DB2/400.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Analyze and understand functional and technical requirements.
• Work with business and capability teams to refine requirements.
• Guide the team and perform hands-on development.
• Build robust, efficient, effective solutions and identify optimization opportunities.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development process and lead an onshore/offshore model.
• Drive continuous integration, improvement and learning; contribute to the technology roadmap.
• Coordinate with clients for requirement clarification and solution discussions.
Role Description
The AS400 COBOL Application Developer will design, code, test and debug applications running on the AS400 (iSeries) platform for a healthcare-domain project. Responsibilities include:
• Programming on iSeries using COBOL, RPG, CL, SQLCOBOL, CBLLE.
• Creating and analyzing physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views and stored procedures.
• Ensuring adherence to quality standards and the ability to work independently.
• Utilizing SYNON (minimum 3 years) and, ideally, healthcare/PBM experience with RxClaim (Extract Module).
Essential Skills
AS400 COBOL, RPG, Control Language (CLP/CLLE), SQL concepts, cursor programming, database design on DB2/400, strong communication skills, ownership of tasks, and adherence to quality requirements.
