Location: Culver City, CA – 100% Onsite from Day 1
Duration: 12+ Months
Experience Required: 10+ Years

Important: This is a 100% onsite position from Day 1 in Culver City, CA.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infor Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in payroll and workforce management applications, particularly Infor WFM and UKG Payroll.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across payroll technology strategy, application reliability, production support, architecture, integrations, delivery governance, vendor management, and technology transformation.

The candidate must be comfortable operating across both strategic and hands-on technical responsibilities, including complex production issue resolution, technical decision-making, architecture reviews, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

Must-Have Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll systems, HRIS, workforce management, payroll technology, or related enterprise applications.

  • Strong hands-on experience with payroll and workforce management applications.

  • Infor WFM experience is required.

  • UKG Payroll experience is strongly preferred/required.

  • Strong experience with payroll technology strategy and architecture.

  • Experience with production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

  • Experience managing integrations, interfaces, data flows, APIs, testing, releases, and stabilization.

  • Experience with technology budgets, Agile funding, delivery governance, and vendor performance.

  • Strong leadership and executive communication skills.

Core Responsibilities

Production Support & Problem Resolution

  • Lead and actively participate in triage of payroll application, integration, data, access, configuration, calculation, timekeeping, and financial posting issues.

  • Establish clear problem statements, business impact, affected populations, timelines, recent changes, systems of origin, and available data evidence.

  • Perform or direct:

    • Log reviews

    • Data comparisons

    • Configuration reviews

    • Interface tracing

    • File validation

    • Schedule reviews

    • Security analysis

    • Controlled testing

  • Drive issues through permanent resolution, including root cause analysis, corrective action, regression testing, monitoring, documentation, and lessons learned.

  • Ensure workarounds are risk-assessed, time-bound, approved when required, and replaced with sustainable solutions.

  • Maintain internal ownership of business impact, investigation, communication, and final validation when vendor support is required.

  • Participate in critical payroll processing windows, releases, cutovers, go-lives, and stabilization activities.

  • Prioritize incidents and remediation based on business criticality, payroll deadlines, employee impact, compliance exposure, financial risk, and operational continuity.

Technology Leadership & Architecture

  • Shape and execute a payroll technology strategy and roadmap focused on reliability, modernization, simplification, and improved user experience.

  • Own solution direction and design quality across:

    • Configuration

    • Extensions

    • Integrations

    • Reporting

    • Automation

    • Controls

    • Security

  • Review technical designs and challenge unnecessary customization, weak controls, unsupported handoffs, and ineffective solutions.

  • Ensure architecture and data flows between payroll platforms and enterprise systems are well understood, documented, stable, and supportable.

  • Work with integrations involving:

    • Workday

    • SAP Finance

    • Banking systems

    • Tax systems

    • Time & Attendance

    • Other enterprise applications

  • Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring, self-service, reporting, and AI-enabled improvements.

  • Promote solutions that improve speed, reliability, maintainability, and business value without compromising payroll accuracy, security, controls, or compliance.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop payroll technology staff, technical leads, contractors, and service partners.

  • Establish clear expectations for ownership, responsiveness, technical investigation, documentation, communication, and measurable outcomes.

  • Review incident and delivery work for quality and provide guidance on complex technical issues.

  • Establish and maintain:

    • Support playbooks

    • Diagnostic checklists

    • Escalation criteria

    • On-call/payroll-cycle coverage

    • Knowledge articles

    • Cross-training plans

  • Assess capacity and skill gaps and ensure external resources supplement rather than replace internal technical accountability.

Delivery, Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead payroll technology assessments, implementations, enhancements, releases, and projects using appropriate Agile and delivery practices.

  • Partner with:

    • Payroll Operations

    • HR IT

    • Integration Teams

    • Information Security

    • Audit

    • Other business and technology stakeholders

  • Own executive communication regarding priorities, service health, incidents, delivery progress, risks, decisions, and remediation plans.

  • Establish delivery plans and service commitments based on business criticality.

  • Proactively identify risks and implement recovery or contingency plans when commitments are at risk.

  • Manage payroll technology budgets, Agile funding, contracts, statements of work, service levels, and vendor performance.

  • Ensure compliance with payroll requirements, collective bargaining agreements, SOX, audit controls, information security, and data privacy standards.

  • Maintain accurate:

    • Decision records

    • Solution documentation

    • Configuration records

    • Runbooks

    • Support procedures

    • Testing evidence

    • Change controls

    • Audit-ready documentation

  • Experience supporting complex U.S. and Canadian payroll environments.

  • Experience supporting multi-entity, union, and non-union payroll environments.

  • Knowledge of entertainment-industry collective bargaining agreements and their impact on payroll, time, calculations, interfaces, and controls.

  • Experience leading payroll technology implementations, migrations, cutovers, go-lives, and stabilization.

  • Experience using scripting, workflow automation, AI-enabled tools, copilots, monitoring, or analytics to improve technology support and delivery.

  • Agile, Scrum, ITIL, project management, payroll, or relevant platform certification.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll systems, HRIS, workforce management, payroll technology, or related enterprise applications.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring, administering, troubleshooting, or implementing enterprise payroll/workforce management platforms.

  • Proven ability to lead complex incident diagnosis, root cause analysis, technical decision-making, and permanent resolution.

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, including Hours-to-Gross and Gross-to-Net processing.

  • Strong understanding of payroll controls, integrations, and U.S. and Canadian payroll requirements.

  • Experience leading technical professionals, contractors, managed service providers, and vendors.

  • Experience translating business and payroll requirements into technical requirements, solution designs, delivery plans, and support models.

  • Experience with integrations, file transfers, APIs, data validation, SQL/reporting queries, testing, releases, change management, cutover, and stabilization.

  • Experience managing technology budgets, vendor contracts, delivery commitments, and competing operational priorities.

  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
