We are seeking a highly experienced ScienceLogic (SL1) Platform Administrator to lead enterprise monitoring strategy, platform administration, integrations, and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SL1 architecture, large-scale monitoring implementations, ServiceNow integrations, and enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
Serve as the primary technical SME for ScienceLogic (SL1) platform architecture and on-prem setup.
Design, implement, and optimize monitoring across servers, databases, network devices, applications, and cloud infrastructure.
Manage platform upgrades, patches, collectors, dynamic applications, power packs, and custom monitoring solutions.
Ensure high platform availability, performance, and scalability.
Strong knowledge of monitoring protocols: SNMP, WMI, SSH, PowerShell, API, JDBC
Experience monitoring:
Windows, Linux, AIX servers
Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 databases
Network infrastructure
Virtualization (VMware, vCenter)
Storage & cloud platforms
Perform threshold tuning, alert optimization, and monitoring noise reduction.
Design and implement integrations with ServiceNow, CMDB, and enterprise ITSM tools.
Configure event management and incident workflows.
Optimize CMDB synchronization and automated incident creation.
Configure SNMP traps, APIs, and custom data collection methods.
Develop automation workflows for:
Device onboarding
Maintenance mode management
Alert enrichment
Utilize Python, PowerShell, and Shell scripting for custom monitoring and automation solutions.
Define and drive monitoring and observability roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Lead architecture design sessions and technical reviews.
Recommend enhancements for scalability, performance, and integrations.
Mentor team members and guide best practices adoption.
Investigate and resolve complex collection failures and integration issues.
Perform root cause analysis for monitoring gaps and platform bottlenecks.
Coordinate with ScienceLogic vendor support for escalations.
Monitor platform health metrics and perform capacity planning.
