Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in the Healthcare industry to join our growing data team in New York. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms and data pipelines using Databricks, Snowflake, and MicroStrategy. This role requires a hands-on technical expert who can work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and analytics teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10–12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Analytics.
  • Strong Healthcare domain experience, including exposure to healthcare data models, claims, provider, member, clinical, or patient data.
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks for data processing, ETL/ELT development, and data engineering solutions.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake architecture, administration, performance tuning, and data modeling.
  • Experience with MicroStrategy for reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
  • Strong experience with data integration, data transformation, and large-scale data migration projects.
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using modern cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and data governance best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
  • Build scalable and high-performance data solutions using Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for healthcare data ingestion and transformation.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Create and maintain MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and semantic layers.
  • Implement data quality, validation, and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization across data platforms.
  • Support data migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements and data security standards.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to best practices across the data engineering team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of Spark, Python, PySpark, and modern data engineering frameworks.
  • Experience with healthcare analytics, population health, care management, or claims processing systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
  • Snowflake and Databricks certifications are highly preferred.
