Manipulating the data set

Hi - 

What is the straightforward way to manipulate the dicom dataset and create a new dicom file? 

For an example, lets say I only want to change the Patient ID and then create a new dicom file with this changed dataset

I'm not sure you can do it in cornerstone directly, but you can do it with dcmjs.  You can read the dataset, change element values, and recreate a part 10 binary.
