Hi everyone,
Below is a quick update from the HQC (Housestaff Quality Council) regarding a recent IT subcommittee meeting and some issues about Eclipsys.  I am going to try to start attending some of their meetings, let me know if you want to join in and/or have any issues.

FYI: The red letter workaround mentioned below partially works, you have to keep doing it over and over to get rid of all the red letters. :(

As per your requests and comments the follow issues were raised at the IT subcommittee with the following responses:

1) Red Lettering in Notes: there is no official fix per the Eclipsis team for the red lettering. However, there is a work-around. If your note has red writing in it and you'd like to get rid of it, you should follow these steps:
 a) Highlight the note, right click on it, and choose "Modify" option
 b) Once in the "Modify" view, click to save the note, WITHOUT MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THE NOTE, and all of your lettering will convert to black from there on.

2) F6 copy function not working properly. The IT team is aware and they are working on updating the F6 module to function again.

3) Rx Writer does not allow you to see inpatient orders while in it. This is a long-term problem with a long-term solution that is being fixed through the ORM Work Group. If you have an interest in participating in these meetings, they are from 1-2pm EVERY THURSDAY. I can email you the bridgeline to participate. We'd love to have more housestaff and reps involved!

4) Automatic Save function for notes. The IT team really liked this idea and will investigate if it is possible for Eclipsis and will report back to the subcommittee. Hopefully, it is possible within the constraints of the software.

Hi everyone--
I sent this out but I'm not sure it went through to everyone.

The New York Antiquarian Book Fair is on at the Park Avenue Armory (Park Ave and 64th Street) this weekend and I've been able to organize free tickets to the show for NYP doctors.  My husband will be exhibiting books with Maggs Bros Ltd (booth B-12). He has some medically-interesting books, esp if you're interested in tropical medicine and/or pirates. Please feel free to drop by and say hello to him.

If you're interested in attending or have any questions, please email: ma...@maggs.com.

For more information on the fair itself, please follow this link: www.nybookfair.com
