NEWSYLETTER #52
Hey, Folkies, Fans, Press Peoples, and anyone else who gets this,
We’ve got TWO wonderful places to play coming up, in the coming days. Just like it used to be:
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 4. CLIFTON SPRINGS, NY, Tunes by the Tracks. 7 PM. Yes, we’ve been there once before. Every couple of Wednesday evenings they take over the Library at Clifton Springs… which used to be the train station. 4 Railroad Ave. Lotsa fun, lotsa folkies to sing along… Including you. $5 suggested donation. Jimclare.org
SATURDAY, OCT. 7. NEWARK VALLEY APPLE FESTIVAL, Bement-Billings homestead, Route 38. 3:30 pm. The festival is great fun. I’ve visited it several times as a spectator. They make cider with an old-fashioned one lunger gasoline engine. Dick Warner creates hand made beams. There’s lots to do, INCLUDING MAKING MUSIC, SINGING WITH US. In the barn. There’s a small charge to get into the festival, nothing extra for the music. Paththroughhistory.com
We being: Phil Shapiro and Carrie Shore, the American Folk Tradition, playing thoroughly obscure songs with great choruses, old songs and not-so-old, for over 200 shows, all over.
Carrie plays wonderful fiddle, I play guitar, and we both sing. And so, we hope, do you.
Let’s share some music. You are the potential audience, and you are the most important part of our show. Our songs have, mostly, great choruses. They aren’t songs that you know, so let’s teach them to you. Come sing with us.
Hope to see you, and sing with you.
Phil (and Carrie)
