My next door neighbor (also a renter) had a serious plumbing issue
recently and could not get a call back from her landlord. I suggested
she call the Southwest Neighborhood office at 923 Genesee Street
(428-7630). This city agency has the power to get in contact with
landlords and enforce the laws. There is a police officer there to
speak with directly if necessary also. Unfortunately there are
landlords who only respond when forced to.
