Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced z/OS Connect Specialist to support a large-scale mainframe modernization initiative. The role focuses on transforming legacy 3270 applications and SOAP-based services into modern, scalable REST APIs using IBM z/OS Connect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement REST APIs using IBM z/OS Connect
- Modernize legacy COBOL, CICS, DB2 applications by exposing business services as APIs
- Support migration from SOAP services (ACE/ESB) to REST-based architecture
- Collaborate with IBM Lab Services and internal teams on modernization programs
- Integrate with DB2, z/OS, z/VM, and z/Linux (ACE, ODM) environments
- Provide technical leadership and best practices for API enablement on mainframe
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in IBM z/OS Connect (EE)
- Hands-on experience with CICS application development and integration
- Knowledge of REST API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with IBM ACE (ESB), SOAP to REST transformation
- Familiarity with DB2, z/OS, z/VM, and z/Linux environments
- Exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives
