About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Mainframe Modernization Engineers / Software Developers to support enterprise modernization initiatives across banking, healthcare, and large-scale regulated environments.

This role is ideal for candidates who possess deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies while also bringing strong modern application development experience in Java and distributed systems. The selected candidate will play a critical role in transforming legacy enterprise platforms into scalable, secure, and modern architectures.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with COBOL, IBM Mainframe systems, Java development, APIs, enterprise integrations, and modernization strategies for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms
• Analyze, modernize, and integrate legacy COBOL applications with modern distributed systems
• Develop backend services and enterprise applications using Java and modern frameworks
• Support modernization initiatives involving APIs, microservices, and cloud-based integrations
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in high-volume enterprise environments
• Participate in system architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with architects, QA teams, analysts, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes
• Ensure application compliance with enterprise security, operational, and regulatory standards
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Support batch processing, transaction systems, and high-availability enterprise platforms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of software development or systems engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • COBOL
  • IBM Mainframe Technologies
  • Java Development
• Experience working with:
  • z/OS
  • CICS
  • JCL
  • DB2
  • VSAM
  • IMS
  • TSO/ISPF
• Experience integrating legacy systems with modern enterprise applications
