Manual Tester with P&C Insurance domain

Location : Philadelphia, PA

Duration : Long Term

Job description:

  • Typically, 6+ years of QA/testing experience, with significant exposure to P&C insurance applications.
  • Analyse business, functional requirements and translate them into detailed test scenarios and test cases.
  • Design and execute functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression testing for insurance applications and interfaces.
  • Validate policy lifecycle transactions including quote, bind, issue, endorsement, renewal, cancellation, rating, and premium calculations.
  • Perform deep validation of P&C business rules, rating logic, coverages, deductibles, limits, endorsements, and state-specific rules.
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with requirements applicable to P&C insurance lines of business. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using QA and ALM tools; participate actively in defect triage and resolution discussions.
  • Provide accurate test execution status, defect metrics, and risk assessments to QA leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and UAT teams to clarify requirements and ensure test readiness.
  • Participate in SDLC activities including requirements reviews, design walkthroughs, sprint ceremonies, and release signoffs.
  • Contribute to QA best practices, test standards, and reusable test assets across P&C insurance initiatives.
  • Support UAT by assisting business users with test execution, defect validation, and go‑live readiness.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance systems and workflows.
  • Knowledge of insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Insurity, or similar P&C core systems.
  • Extensive experience in manual testing with solid understanding of test design techniques and defect lifecycle management.
  • Experience with QA tools such as Azure DevOps, or equivalent (tool usage referenced across QA documentation and practices).
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall delivery models.
  • Experience in API testing with SOAP UI or equivalent tools
