📌 Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced L2/L3 Unified Communications Engineer specializing in Ribbon Session Border Controllers (SBC). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, troubleshooting complex voice signaling issues, and managing carrier-grade interconnects. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in SIP protocol analysis, media traversal, and multi-platform UC integrations (Cisco, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
🎯 Key Responsibilities
  • L2/L3 Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for Ribbon SBC deployment, maintenance, and day-to-day operations.
  • SIP & Core Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex SIP signaling failures, registration issues, advanced routing/policy engine faults, and codec/DTMF mismatches.
  • Media & Audio Resolution: Troubleshoot voice-path anomalies including one-way/no audio, RTP anchoring, NAT/firewall traversal, and security policy blocks (TLS/SRTP).
  • Platform Interoperability: Manage and optimize multi-vendor integrations connecting enterprise systems (Cisco Webex, Zoom Phone, Teams Direct Routing) with global telecom carriers.
  • Lifecycle & Operational Tasks: Execute complex changes, implement translation/normalization rules, manage security certificates, and coordinate patches/upgrades.
  • Trace & Log Analysis: Perform deep packet capture and log analysis using Ribbon EMA, CLI, and Wireshark to generate SIP ladder diagrams for escalation resolution.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical runbooks, rollback strategies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
💼 Must-Have Technical Skills
  • Ribbon Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC configuration, session routing, and platform maintenance.
  • Protocol Mastery: Deep knowledge of SIP, SDP, RTP/RTCP, and voice security mechanisms (TLS/SRTP).
  • Trace Tools: Proficiency in analyzing raw call traces, packet captures, and logs to trace end-to-end call flows.
  • Carrier Knowledge: Solid experience managing carrier-side SIP trunks, enterprise routing tables, and central policies.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or an equivalent technical field.
  • 4+ years of dedicated experience in Voice/UC engineering supporting Enterprise/Carrier-grade Ribbon infrastructures.
  • Certifications on Ribbon SBC platforms or relevant UC technologies (Cisco, Zoom) are a major plus.
