Job Description:

Role: L3 Network Engineer (Onsite)

 
1. Key Responsibilities

🔧 Design & Implementation

 Design, implement, and optimize LAN/WAN infrastructure for high‑performance enterprise environments.

Deploy and configure L3/L2 switches, routers, firewalls, WLC, and SD‑WAN devices.

Architect and deploy Cisco Nexus (5K/7K/9K) and Cisco ACI environments.

Configure, maintain and optimize F5 Load Balancers (LTM/GTM).


🛠 Troubleshooting & Support

Handle escalated L3 incidents, major outages, complex RCA/Corrective actions.

Collaborate with TAC for deep‑dive troubleshooting.

 

🔐 Security & Compliance

Configure and maintain firewalls, ACLs, IPSec VPN, AAA (RADIUS/TACACS+).

Ensure compliance with org or client security standards.

 

📊 Performance Monitoring

Monitor network performance using:SolarWinds, Netbox, Cyber Vision, NNM, ORION

Provide optimization recommendations for latency reduction and efficiency improvements.

 

📝 Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed design/implementation/operational documentation.

 Mentor junior engineers and deliver knowledge transfer.

 

2. Technical Skills Required

📍 Core Networking

Routing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

Switching: VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, QoS

WAN: MPLS, MPLS VPN, MP‑BGP, SD‑WAN (Cisco Viptela, Meraki)

TCP/IP, application protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SNMP, SSL)

 

📍 Security: IPSec VPN, AAA, RADIUS/TACACS+

📍 Data Center Technologies :

Cisco Catalyst (6500 series, etc.)

Cisco Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K

Server/Storage networking fundamentals.

 📍 Wireless:  Cisco or Aruba Wireless

📍 Load Balancing: F5 Big IP LTM/GTM

📍 Tools: SolarWinds, NNM, ORION, Netbox
