Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience administering, supporting, and developing ArcGIS Enterprise applications.
  • 5–10 years of experience administering and supporting ArcFM applications.
  • Strong development experience with Python, AngularJS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and .NET (C#).
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing ArcGIS Portal and Server environments.
  • Proven experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Experience publishing GIS services and administering users, roles, and privileges.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional IT teams (Server, Security, DBA).
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective GIS solutions.
  • Strong communication and client-facing support skills.

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • Utility industry experience (strong plus), especially electric or gas utility GIS systems.
  • Experience with Windows Server administration.
  • FME Suite experience for GIS Landbase workflows and data automation.

 

Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior GIS Support Analyst will provide Tier 1–3 development and technical support for Con Edison’s ArcGIS and ArcFM-based Enterprise GIS platforms. This role involves system administration, application development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to ensure stable and efficient GIS operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for ArcGIS and ArcFM Enterprise GIS applications.
  • Develop and implement minor enhancements using Python, AngularJS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and .NET (C#).
  • Support Con Edison Landbase GIS applications, including new development, enhancements, and issue resolution.
  • Deploy and administer ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal and Server) environments.
  • Monitor system health, perform performance tuning, and ensure high availability of GIS services.
  • Publish GIS services and manage user roles, permissions, and security.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, server support, security, and DBA teams to resolve system and application issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents reported by end users, ensuring timely problem resolution.
  • Communicate ticket status and resolutions to client SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and support team knowledge.
  • Provide flexible support coverage between 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM EST, including rotational weekend support.
